Let's face it, the FCC site is not very user friendly. I have found some different places that have documented the process. 

===== How do I renew on the FCC site myself? =====

  * The [[https://fccprod.servicenowservices.com/wireless?id=kb_article_view_public&sysparm_article=KB0015786&sys_kb_id=4f3161c51b96b150ce3364a8624bcb93&spa=1|FCC has some instructions]] that should get you on the right path.
  * HamStudy has [[https://blog.hamstudy.org/2015/01/renewing-or-updating-your-license-online-for-free/|excellent documentation of the process]]. This is an older document and does not mention the $35 renewal fee.

===== What if I don't want to mess with it? =====

There are a few options.
 
  * ARRL Members can use the [[https://www.arrl.org/call-sign-renewals-or-changes|ARRL VEC]].
  * [[https://www.w5yi-vec.org/index.php/amateur-license-renewals-address-changes|W5YI]] has a renewal service.
